Awards success for Holgate's careers programme

On Tuesday, 13th February principal of The Holgate Academy, Mrs Forsey, was presented with an award certificate for achievement of the nationally accredited Quality in Careers Standard.  The Quality in Careers Standard is awarded to schools and academies who can demonstrate the importance they place on careers and how they support students to make decisions about their life after secondary education.

The award was presented by Michelle Taylor from Ideas4Careers, a company which works in partnership with the licensed awarding body, Prospects, to assess and accredit schools, colleges and work-based learning organisations against the national CEIAG quality award.

Also in attendance were Holgate's student careers prefects and Warburton's Enterprise Coordinator, Lynsey Wray, who works alongside the academy to provide careers guidance and work experience opportunities for our students.  Sophie McKenna, head of personal development at Holgate, was presented with a separate award for all the hard work she had delivered to ensure the academy attained the Quality in Careers Standard.
