Go4Set Celebration and Assessment Day

The Go4Set project came to an end on Tuesday the 5th of February 2013 when five year 9 students attended the Celebration and Assessment Day at Snibston Discovery Centre.

Grace Hickling, Corey Scothern, Hannah Martin, Fallon Gunn and Tyler Hayman-Harrison have all worked really hard over the past 10 weeks on an after school STEM project where they decided to create their own sports arena called X-Dream.

Drawing Workshop 1: Training Your Eye

On Tuesday the 5th of February 2013 a group of year 12 art students took part in an Art Master Class with our artist in residence Andy Allen.

“By focusing on abstraction and the act of drawing, rather than the end product student’s work though a series of exercises began to develop a critical eye. Working under a time limit and with different mediums expanded students skill set and developed a greater understanding of the drawing process. Students were given time to reflect and evaluate the work produced and the workshop itself, this is important in developing self reflection and communication skills.”

Computer Course Teens Were a Credit

I have just finished a three-session computer and Internet instruction course as part of Hucknall and District University Of The Third Age Group (U3A).

It was given by some pupils from The Holgate School in the town and feel I must say how wonderful I found it.

They were so patient and helpful to an oldie like me. They gave me clear and simple instruction and boosted my confidence in using the computer.
