The Academy’s Climate for Learning structure ensure that any student who requires additional support receives this through normal timetabled provision. In addition to this there is a large team of experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) who provide individual and small group support to students.
Teaching staff all practice quality first teaching and differentiation to ensure that individual student’s needs are met and that all students achieve their academic potential.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
The Holgate Academy is committed to raising the achievement of students with English as an additional language. We identify individual student’s needs and seek to ensure they have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
We also build on students exciting skills and we endeavour to make all out students confident, independent learners who feel they contribute and belong in the Academy and the community.
