Admission to The Holgate Academy

Thank you for showing an interest in our academy which offers secondary education to the Hucknall community and beyond. Each year we receive increasing numbers of applications and recommend that you visit the academy on one of our open evenings or taster days to discover more about life at Holgate, to view our learning environment and to meet our students and staff.

The application process

Nottinghamshire County Council continues to administer the admissions process for The Holgate Academy and entry is still based upon the admissions criteria.

For sixth form entry, please visit the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.

Key dates

The application process for year 7 opens in August each year, closing in October, with offers made to families in the following March. Any exceptional late applications and changes to preference must be received by the local authority by December.

Open evenings at The Holgate Academy are held in June and September each year for prospective students and parents. Dates and times will be advertised on our website and on our social media channels.
