All students will be expected to do homework outside of the timetabled curriculum. This supports your independent learning and enables you to learn subjects in depth as well as testing your understanding of a subject.
Subject teachers will set homework tasks that are designed to embed skills and knowledge to support your studies.

Homework at The Holgate Academy is changing!
The main objective of any homework task is to ensure students can continue their journey of progress beyond the classroom. The most effective homework is organised, monitored and helps students deepen their understanding and consolidate their learning. With this in mind, we are improving and extending our knowledge organisers across all year groups to help students in this journey to success and support the knowledge needed for the new GCSE courses. A knowledge organiser is an information page containing key information, concepts and subject specific terminology/information related to the units currently being studied.
