Our Year 8 students recently had a special opportunity to join a workshop led by local artist Sally Ann Brackett. Together, they dove into the stories of Hucknall Heroes, important figures from our community’s past.
Using a technique called ‘Tissarge’ that Sally Brackett taught them, the students created artwork by collaging these heroes onto maps. It’s a method that Sally Brackett came up with herself, blending art and map-making in a unique way.
Their fantastic work will soon be on display at The Holgate Academy, celebrating our town’s history. Keep an eye out for a peek at what they’ve created!
