Recently, Nottingham Forest Football Club visited Holgate and delivered a number of key sessions to our year 10 students. The purpose was to engage students in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), with a focus on coding. Most students could relate the coding to what they had been taught previously in computer science using Scratch.

Throughout the session, students were tasked with writing code to make an electronic ball light up, travel, speak out loud, and perform other features. Year 10 students thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, exploring how coding works in more detail. A big well done to all who attended the workshop—you were enthusiastic and truly immersed yourselves in the coding tasks set by Nottingham Forest Football Club.
