Whether you’re interested in dance, drama, music, sports, the environment, or you have a passion for leading and organising charitable events, we offer plenty of opportunities outside of the curriculum. Our sixth form extra-curricular programme is for students, by students, meaning that if you have the passion and interest to make something happen, and are committed to making it a success, we will support you.

Past and present extra-curricular activities have included:

  • Debate club
  • Psychology club
  • Football
  • Film club
  • Coding/programming
  • LGBTQI+
  • Drama

Opportunities

Students will also have access to opportunities to support them in life after sixth form. This includes taking part in charity challenge – a team-based fundraising project to support chosen charities. We also welcome external speakers to weekly enrichment periods, to encourage thought-provoking discussion, reflection, and independent research. Talks have previously included:

  • Safe driving
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Safe sex and consent
  • The importance of voting
  • Banking
  • Higher education, apprenticeships and post 18 options
  • Finance and financial responsibility
  • Workers’ rights and responsibilities
  • Study skills
  • Employability skills

Trips and visits programme

We arrange several UK and international trips linked to specific courses. These opportunities give space for students to visit new locations, be open to learning about new cultures, and experience life outside of their normal learning environment. We also strongly encourage students to attend a variety of university open days, careers fairs, and other events that inform them and prepare them for the many routes and pathways ahead.

Leadership

As a sixth form student you will have more freedom to take up roles of responsibility to further develop your skills, interests, and capabilities. We expect our sixth form students to engage in leadership roles to further develop their further education experience.
