Applying to The Holgate Academy sixth form

Thank you for considering post 16 study at The Holgate Academy sixth form. Our general application process is as follows:

  1. Decide which courses we offer that you would like to study
  2. Complete the online application form on this page. If you would prefer a paper copy version, please contact abrown@holgate-ac.org.uk
  3. We will invite students who have submitted an application to an informal meeting. This gives you an opportunity to meet with us to find out if we are the right fit for you, and for us to learn more about you
  4. All applicants will be invited to attend our sixth form induction day in the summer term
  5. On GCSE results day in August, applicants should enrol with us. We provide transition support in terms of curriculum preparation, study skills and time management to ensure you are equipped for your first days with us
  6. At the beginning of year 12, we invite all students and their families to a welcome session to meet the team and answer any questions

Entry requirements

We expect all students to have achieved a minimum of five grade 5 qualifications at GCSE in subjects relevant to their choices to join us at Holgate sixth form.
