We’ve had a busy few weeks at Holgate, hosting two fantastic events for prospective families and students.

The first was our year 6 open evening, which attracted over 600 visitors and gave them the unique opportunity to discover what makes Holgate such a positive and special place to learn. The second event was our sixth form open evening, which welcomed over 200 attendees and offered a chance to explore our brand-new, dedicated, and bespoke sixth form centre.

Both events were a huge success, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from both students and parents. We can’t wait to welcome both new year 7 and sixth form students in the next academic year.

Year 6 open evening highlights

A fantastic evening saw our Principal, Mr Henry Diamond, deliver a series of welcome talks throughout the night, which guests were invited to attend. Visitors then had the opportunity to explore the school and discover for themselves why Holgate continues to be a popular choice for students and parents.

One parent shared:

“This was very well organised and gave my son a good insight into how the school is laid out. He enjoyed all the activities, especially the science projects. There was a big variety of teachers available to ask questions. It was great to see all the new year 7s at the open evening too.”

Sixth form open evening highlights

An equally impressive evening gave our guests the chance to explore our brand-new sixth form centre while learning more about the wide range of A Level and Level 3 courses we offer.

Feedback from the evening was very positive, with one parent commenting:

“It was a very informative and helpful evening. The new centre looks great, and we are very hopeful that our daughter wants to apply.”
