Last term, our year 10 business students took part in a festive Dragon’s Den-style competition, where they had to pitch a new Christmas product to a judging panel. It was an excellent task designed to test their knowledge and creative skills.
They worked in groups of three and were required to produce a PowerPoint presentation, which included the name and image of the product, the product’s unique selling point (USP), costings, where to purchase the product from, and the target audience.
Prior to the competition, our students had the unique opportunity to sample Aldi’s recently launched ‘lickable’ pigs in blankets wrapping paper. This novelty wrapping paper not only tastes and smells like delicious pigs in blankets but also looks charming on presents with its pastel pink design and festive holly and snowflake patterns. Students were shown this product to help inspire their own ideas.
The competition produced some fantastic results and really showcased our students’ talents and creativity. After careful deliberation by the judging panel, the winners were selected as follows:
1st place: Harry, Harry and Frankie – Christmas-themed calibrated chess board
2nd place: Taylor, AJ and Kayden – Build and personalise your own gonk
3rd place: Nikita and Olatomiwa – Make-up range
Well done to all the students who took part in the competition. Your enthusiasm and determination to succeed were incredible.
