Last week, our amazing cast, which consisted of over 70 students and staff, delivered We Will Rock You School Edition across five fabulous shows over three days (three evening and two matinee performances), demonstrating the incredible talent we have here at Holgate.
We Will Rock You School Edition is set in a post-apocalyptic future where individuality has been outlawed and music is controlled by algorithms. The story follows two young revolutionaries who dare to defy the system to save rock ‘n’ roll. It also features more than 20 iconic Queen hits, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions,” “Somebody to Love,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.”
As part of the cast’s preparation, they were given the opportunity in January to go on a school trip to London to watch Wicked the Musical — a fantastic and valuable experience that all students who attended thoroughly enjoyed. Since casting began back in September, our students have worked incredibly hard during rehearsals, and their dedication was evident in their performances.
