Prior to the Easter break, a group of our year 7 students attended an exciting school trip to The Mill Adventure Base at Kings Mill Reservoir in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The visit was designed to provide students with the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, face new challenges and develop resilience. It proved to be a full-on, action-packed day, with students enthusiastically taking part in a wide range of outdoor activities. These included high ropes, a zip wire, Jacob’s Ladder and low ropes, all of which encouraged teamwork, determination and confidence.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated excellent attitudes and a willingness to support one another, particularly when tackling the more challenging elements of the course. It was fantastic to see so many of them pushing themselves to try something new and celebrating each other’s achievements along the way.

A particular highlight for many was the opportunity to make their own pizzas for lunch using outdoor pizza ovens. This hands-on experience added an extra layer of enjoyment to the day and gave students a chance to relax and socialise together.

All of our students had a fantastic time and returned to school full of excitement, with some even overcoming their fear of heights. The trip was a great success and provided lasting memories for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the team at The Mill Adventure Base for hosting us and ensuring that our students had an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
