On Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 March, we were delighted to host our annual careers fair at Holgate, where students in years 9, 10 and 11 were invited to attend and meet with colleges and employers from our local community.

Companies in attendance included the NHS, West Nottinghamshire College, Link3 Recruitment, Nottinghamshire Police, Brackenhurst College, Diverse Academies Trust, the British Army, the Royal Air Force, Labosport, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Nottingham College, the Ministry of Justice, Confetti College, Inspire College, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the National Horseracing College, the National Hairdressing and Beauty Federation (NHBF), Miller Knight, and the Deeley Group.

During the event, many organisations made their stands interactive by giving students the opportunity to take part in challenges. For example, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue tested how quickly students could put on firefighter uniforms, while Nottinghamshire Police challenged students to build a pyramid using plastic cups while wearing ‘Drunk Buster’ impairment goggles, designed to simulate the effects of intoxication.

Our students found the careers fair both valuable and informative in supporting their future career decision-making. A huge thank you to all the organisations that attended for making their stands fun and engaging. The event would not have been possible without your support and participation.
