Today we were delighted to welcome several local employers to the academy as our year 11 students took part in a mock interview day. This fantastic opportunity for our students gives them much needed interview practice before they take the next step after leaving Holgate, whether this is continuing their studies at Hucknall Sixth Form Centre, college or moving onto a work-based training course or employment.
Armed with their CV and record of achievement, our students were put through their paces by our visiting interviewers. Feedback given after the interviews to students will help them develop and improve their technique in similar situations, vital skills for whatever they progress on to in their education and careers. The feedback is also important for the academy and how we plan personal development lessons to support students in further these key skills.
Thank you to the representatives from our interviewing organisations: The Army, J Tomlinson, Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service, Ashfield District Council, Nottingham College, West Notts College, Link 3, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Babington College and PK Education, Diverse Academies, and our own board of governors.
Providers and students all concluded that the day was fantastic and very informative for all. All the students that took part were very smart and presentable in their uniform and represented the academy superbly.
