On Thursday 9 October, a small group of our young carers were invited to attend first aid training delivered by the British Red Cross. The British Red Cross is a humanitarian charity that provides support to people in crisis both in the UK and internationally, offering assistance in emergencies and supporting those with health and mobility needs.

This valuable session covered essential first aid skills, including how to use a defibrillator, practising CPR, and treating injuries such as burns. All students were enthusiastic and particularly enjoyed practising CPR on Little Anne (a resuscitation doll).

Did you know that we have four defibrillators located at Holgate? One is located near our first aid room, another in student services, and two more are located in our Nabbs building.

A big thank you to the British Red Cross for taking the time to deliver this session to our young carers. It was incredibly useful, and our students thoroughly enjoyed attending.
