Just before half-term we were delighted as one of our talented year 9 sports stars, Ben Staniforth, won a prestigious golf tournament. Representing The Holgate Academy in the English Schools Golf Championship, Ben played superbly and won the event to become the Nottinghamshire Schools Champion.
Further to this, Ben’s successes have not gone unnoticed in the golfing world, as he has been requested to join the Nottinghamshire County golf team owing to his success over his last few competitions. A fabulous opportunity to compete at a very good level and to hone his already impressive skills.
Very well done from everyone at Holgate – we can’t wait to see Ben’s future progress.
