Governor name
Emma Redgate
Governor role
Parent Governor
Why did you become a governor?
I have been a governor at other Hucknall schools for several years, so moving to The Holgate Academy as Parent Governor was a logical step for me as my child attends the academy. My work background is Human Resources, so I wanted to bring my people skills into the education environment and offer my support to the academy. I have a strong sense of community, and so wanted to embed myself into the academy as a governor to be able to ensure that the academy works to give our children the best education it can to prepare them for life in our community.
How did you find out about the role?
Enquired directly with the academy via the website.
What do you like about the role, and how do governors make a difference?
I value the opportunity to delve deeper into what is happening at the academy and the impact that this can have for my child and all other students. The role of a governor is to support the academy and to ensure our children are given the best education possible as a result.
