Governor name
Paul Simpson
Governor role
Appointed governor
Why did you become a governor?
I have worked in schools for over thirty years. I believe that education is fundamental in enabling character development, enhancing the community, and establishing career pathways.
Now retired, I hope to be able to continue to contribute as a governor in working towards Holgate Academies’ ambition of creating brighter tomorrows. I believe that school helps young people to discover their pathway in life; they deserve to have the opportunity to achieve their best and to enjoy their time at school. It is important that staff feel well supported in their career development.
School matters for all students. Education is a powerful tool in creating our futures.

What do you like about the role, and how do governors make a difference?
I enjoy working with fellow governors; listening to students and staff; celebrating their achievements; and contributing to the conversation about school improvement.
