The annual Holgate Rewards Events were held to recognise students who’ve consistently shown ‘outstanding’ behaviour across the school year.

Two events – for years 7 and 8, and for years 9 and 10 – were held for students, and their proud parents and carers, at the academy’s Hillcrest Hall last night (Wednesday 19 July).

Students recognised were those who’d achieved in one of the following three areas.

  • Subject Achievement Award
  • Subject MDT (Manners, Determination and Teamwork) Award
  • Form Tutor Award for MDT (Manners, Determination and Teamwork).

Additionally the top two point scorers in each academy year were nominated for an award.

Earlier yesterday we held our final Holgate Achievers event for students who’d demonstrated high levels of MDT (manners, determination and teamwork) this term; as well as for all those who’d achieved our top net point award, the Governors’ Award.

Students had the chance to bounce around on giant inflatables on the academy fields. Although the weather tried to stop play, academy staff went out of there way to bail water out, and get the inflatables back up and running so students could have fun.

A Pos Re team member, who co-organised these awards, said: “Finishing the year celebrating these students, who are consistently striving to be the best versions of themselves, is the best way to end the year.”
