Students at The Holgate Academy, part of Diverse Academies Trust, were celebrating this morning as they received their A level results at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.
The fantastic A level results achieved by students enable them to progress onto a variety of university courses and apprenticeships, as well as into employment.
One of the top performers was Evie Allsop who received an A in English language, B in psychology, A* in criminology and an A in the extended project qualification (EPQ) and was thrilled to secure a place at Nottingham Trent University. This was her first choice, and she is going to study childhood and psychology. Evie said: “I am thrilled with my results and looking forward to the next chapter.”
Patrik Holodnak is also celebrating brilliant results, with an A in chemistry, A in maths, B in physics and a C in the EPQ. Patrick will be undertaking an engineering apprenticeship at ITP Aero (an aeronautical engine and components company). A very happy looking Patrick said: “I am relieved to have got the results I wanted, and more importantly needed. I am excited to start the next chapter of my life.”
Luke Sanders was delighted with his results. With a grade A in biology, B in chemistry, B in maths and a B in the EPQ, he will be off to the University of Sheffield to study biomedical science. Luke said: “I am pleasantly surprised and looking forward to starting university.”
Harry Plaskitt’s dedication has paid off, he received a grade B in history, B in business, E in physics and an A in the EPQ, securing him a place at the University of Lincoln to study history.
Henry Diamond, principal at The Holgate Academy said: “We are exceptionally proud of all students who have worked hard during their time at Holgate and Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.
“Their hard work has been rewarded and we are delighted that they will now be able to take their next steps as successful, confident and resilient young people”.
