Our students have been busy in the run-up to Christmas collecting food items for the Engage food bank, based at Hucknall’s Under One Roof Community Resource Centre.
The Holgate Academy has been running collections for this great local cause for a number of years.
A big ‘thank you’ to students and their families, and staff, who have already generously donated to the food bank collections at the academy.
Our last day for collections is tomorrow (Friday 15 December), so any last raid of the home cupboards for then would be much appreciated.
Pictured below are some of our hardworking year 10 students, collecting and organising donations at the school gates.
As in previous years, we will also be holding a Christmas jumper day on the last day of this term (Thursday 21 December) in aid of the Save the Children charity.
Students and staff can turn up in their best/worst Christmas jumpers, if they bring in a suggested charity donation of £1.
Students will still need to wear school uniform under the jumper (shirt and tie) but do not need to bring a blazer if wearing a jumper.
