It’s National Apprenticeship Week—the biggest week in the apprenticeships and skills calendar! This week brings together everyone who is passionate about apprenticeships and skills to celebrate the value, benefits, and opportunities they bring.
In preparation for this special week, we had a visit last week from ITP Aero, a large employer within our local community and world leaders in aerospace propulsion. ITP Aero specialises in designing, developing, and manufacturing parts for aerospace engines in the civil, private, and defence sectors.

The team delivered a presentation to our year 11 students about exciting apprenticeship opportunities and even treated our students by bringing in examples of the work they manufacture daily. They also highlighted how apprenticeships can be an excellent option for those wishing to start a career, not only in manufacturing but also in supporting roles such as IT, HR, and finance.
Our students were given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation and were also able to view the samples of products produced by ITP Aero. Our students were fully engaged and well-behaved throughout the event. A big thank you to ITP Aero for taking time out of their day to come and present to our students. I’m sure our students will agree that it was a valuable experience.
