Yesterday, we were delighted to once again launch the £1 challenge to our year 8 students. This exciting challenge is designed to promote valuable enterprise skills such as money management, creativity, and strategy, while also providing an opportunity to engage with the local community. Our students attended an assembly first thing to kick off this exciting task, followed by a session with their form tutor to discuss it further.
Our students will work in small groups throughout March and will each be given £1. They will need to collaborate, utilising their skills and knowledge, to figure out ways to achieve their end goal: to make the most profit and deliver the most successful business venture. Students will present their results at the start of April, and there will be a prize up for grabs. The winning team will also have the opportunity to select a chosen charity, as the total profits raised by the whole challenge will be split between a charity and our student forum/prefects.
Our students were excited and eager to get stuck into this exciting challenge, and they were fully engaged throughout the assembly, asking lots of questions. We look forward to seeing what ideas they bring to the table and feel we definitely have some budding entrepreneurs among our cohort of year 8 students.
