Our head prefect Beth and senior prefect Max recently dropped by Under One Roof in Hucknall to see the Lego Hope statue.
‘Hope’, the Lego suffragette, was built by Parliament in 2018 to mark 100 years since the first women gained the right to vote in Britain. It took three people 171 hours to build her and she is made from more than 30,000 bricks, standing at 170cm tall.
If you wish to visit this impressive statue, Hope will only be in Hucknall for a short time as she is currently touring the country – make sure you don’t miss out! You can learn a lot about women’s voting history, democracy and more besides.
