On Monday, a group of our year 11 students attended the Poetry Live! event, which took place at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.
The event included the Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, who is one of Britain’s best poets and has a superb ear for language. It was a great opportunity to hear Simon read his work from the anthology. The event also featured other renowned poets, including Carol Ann Duffy and John Agard. In addition, there were two examiner sessions with Chief Examiner Tony Childs, providing our students with invaluable advice for their upcoming GCSEs.
Well done to all our year 11 students who attended the event. Your behaviour and attitude were excellent throughout the trip. It was a great chance to enhance your knowledge in preparation for your exams, and you fully embraced this opportunity.
