Day two in Normandy has been a whirlwind of culture, history, sweet treats, and some healthy competition—our students embraced every moment!

Exploring the market in Bayeux
They began the day immersed in the lively atmosphere of the Bayeux market. Students wandered past stalls brimming with local produce, cheeses, handmade crafts, and fresh bread. It was a brilliant opportunity to practise their French, sample regional delicacies, and soak up the vibrant local culture.

Bayeux Tapestry Museum visit
Next, our students took a short stroll to the renowned Bayeux Tapestry Museum. They were captivated by the incredible craftsmanship and storytelling of this 70-metre-long embroidered record of the Norman conquest of England in 1066. The museum’s audio guides added depth to the experience, sparking lots of interesting conversations about medieval history.

Chocolat ‘Drakkar’ Museum Tour
Our students then embarked on a sweet adventure at the Chocolat ‘Drakkar’ Museum. The aroma of chocolate was irresistible as they explored the history of chocolate-making in Normandy. They watched traditional techniques in action and, of course, sampled some delicious creations. Smiles were inevitable!

British War Cemetery in Bayeux
A more reflective moment followed with a visit to the British War Cemetery. Students showed great respect while learning about the sacrifices of Allied soldiers during World War Two. The peaceful grounds and poignant inscriptions encouraged quiet contemplation and meaningful discussion.

Bowling at Bowling du Calvados
To round off the day, they headed to Bowling du Calvados for some light-hearted fun. Friendly competition, cheers, and a lot of laughter filled the lanes. It was the perfect way to unwind after such a rich and fulfilling day.

Our students have continued to show curiosity, maturity, and positivity throughout each experience. We’re proud of how they’ve embraced every opportunity to learn and grow—roll on day three!
