Why study Level 3 applied science?

The course is designed to support students who wish to follow a pathway in science and combines well with study in biology, chemistry, physics and maths. You will learn about the principles and application of science, with a hands-on emphasis on learning about scientific procedures, investigations and techniques.

For students wishing to go into the fields of forensic science and maths, or look towards a career as a science technician, this is a superb course to take alongside other subjects.

How will Level 3 applied science be delivered?

The course is split into four units over two years. The final award is pass, merit, distinction or distinction* which is equivalent to A level grades.

A broad range of topics are covered in this course, such as cells, physical and chemical properties, and energy usage, with an emphasis on developing practical skills:
