Yesterday, our year 12 cohort of students enjoyed a visit to the prestigious University of Oxford, one of the UK’s leading modern universities and the oldest, with origins dating back to at least the 12th century. During our visit, students explored Magdalen College, a constituent college of the University of Oxford and one of the most beautiful colleges in Oxford.

Throughout the visit, our students learned all about the collegiate system at Oxford and Cambridge, enjoyed a tour of the campus (including the deer park), and experienced a lecture on the history of science, with a focus on epidemiology and the bubonic plague. Following the talk, students were given an opportunity to take in the sights of Oxford city centre before heading back to Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to gain insight into university life at one of the world’s top-ranked universities. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day, and they felt it was a valuable experience.
