Our students took part in team challenges as part of the academy’s Holgate Achievers’ awards.
Students involved were nominated to take part in the Achievers’ activities for showing excellent and consistent MDT (manners determination and teamwork) in their lessons, in the first half of this term.
They had to complete a series of team-based challenges.
Mrs McLaughlin, assistant SENDCO and inclusion lead, said: “These were tough challenges and I didn’t think anyone would complete them all. I was worried they would be too hard for the year sevens but I knew they were Holgate Achievers, so I set the bar high.
“Every year group amazed me with how they worked together with different strategies, constantly working as a team. I could see in them future negotiators, planners and organisers; and the kind of leadership skills that any workplace looks for. It was really impressive.”
