GCSE textiles students from year 10 visited Nottingham Trent University’s Department of Fashion, Textiles and Knitwear Design.
The students were shown examples of first year textiles degree students’ work.
Students also enjoyed three practical sessions; using industrial knitting machines, designing tote bags and creating their own environmentally friendly material by exploring bio-textiles
One GCSE student on the trip said: “That was really fun. I never thought I would be making material like that.”
Another added: “I feel so inspired from all the work I’ve seen.”
The trip was organised by Teacher Sarah McLaughlin.
