On Tuesday 7 July, we were delighted to host The Masked Singer – Teacher Edition at Holgate. The event saw five members of staff dress in outrageous costumes and take to the stage to perform in front of our very own panel of judges, all for a great cause.
The evening began with individual performances from each contestant, and thanks to some fantastic renditions of classic songs, the audience was captivated from the very start. The costumes were incredible, featuring Mickey Mouse, Miss Kitty, Pinocchio, Donkey (from Shrek), and Big Bird.
After Mickey Mouse was eliminated in the first round, the remaining four contestants performed once more before our judges, who, with help from the audience, chose an overall winner. After much deliberation, Big Bird was crowned the winner and was revealed to be our very own Mr Oxlade. Congratulations to him, and well done to all of our contestants: Miss Bruce, Miss Scott, Mr Stevenson and Ms Orchard-Robson. You were all incredible.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success, including our students, and to everyone who came along to support us. Together, we raised an incredible £447.94 for Kooth, a charity that provides free emotional wellbeing and mental health support for young people aged 11 to 25.
