During the last half term, our year 10 business students took part in an exciting competition that allowed them to showcase their innovation and put their business knowledge into practise.
Students were tasked with developing a product or service that they felt would benefit others. They were asked to:
• Come up with a name for their product or service
• Include a drawing (if relevant)
• Explain how the product or service works
• Describe where it can be purchased and its price
• Explain the unique selling point (USP) and identify the target market
Our students came up with some fantastic ideas, and after much deliberation, our year 10 leaders selected three winners based on the above criteria.
Our third-place winner was Izabela, who designed a wireless charger with a suction pad to prevent a phone and charger from slipping or being knocked off a surface. Our second-place winners were Lexie and Mia, who created the Hoodie Electric, featuring built-in heat pads, a rechargeable power pack, and a special compartment. Finally, our deserving first-place winners were Mia and Ellis, who designed The Kreature Katcher—a bug spray designed to help catch unwanted creepy crawlies in your home or workplace.
Our winners were all presented with certificates during assembly, including a prize for our first-place winners. A big thank-you to all our students for their enthusiasm and positive attitude throughout the competition, and a massive well done to our first-place duo, Mia and Ellis!
