Earlier this month, a group of our year 12 and 13 students enjoyed an educational trip to London. The visit was designed not only to support their academic studies but also to offer a rich cultural experience, giving them the chance to explore some of the capital’s most iconic institutions.
During the trip, students had the opportunity to choose two out of three renowned venues: the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), and the Science Museum — all conveniently located in the South Kensington area. Each venue offered unique learning experiences, from the fascinating scientific exhibits at the Science Museum to the incredible art and design collections at the V&A, and the awe-inspiring natural history displays that capture the imagination of visitors of all ages.
Students fully embraced the experience, exploring the museums with curiosity and enthusiasm. In addition to the educational benefits, the trip provided valuable opportunities for social interaction and team-building, allowing students to bond with their peers outside the classroom environment.
All students behaved exceptionally well throughout the trip, demonstrating maturity and respect, and were a credit to themselves and to Holgate. Feedback from both staff and students highlighted how enjoyable and inspiring the visit was, with many noting that it had given them new perspectives and ideas that will enhance their learning back at school.
