Last term, we were delighted to once again launch our annual inter-form competition. The purpose of the competition is to foster teamwork, build stronger relationships, and encourage a positive school community through healthy competition.
We launched the competition with a spelling bee challenge, where students were given ten random words from a list of 100. In preparation for the event, students worked on strategies to help them recall and spell the words correctly.
We are delighted to announce that the winners were:
Year 7 – Ms Forbes’ tutor group, with a score of 27 out of 30
Year 8 – Mr Butterworth’s and Ms Brackett’s tutor groups, who were joint winners with a score of 29 out of 30
Year 9 – Mr Borges’, Mr Wright’s and Ms Street’s tutor groups, who all scored 30 out of 30 and shared the top spot
Next, we held a pumpkin carving competition, where students were tasked with designing and carving the best pumpkin.
After much deliberation from Principal Mr Diamond, who judged all of the entries, we are delighted to announce the winners:
Year 7 – Mr Mwamba’s tutor group
Year 8 – Mr Kelly’s tutor group
Year 9 – Mr Nuthall’s tutor group
Congratulations to everyone who took part in both competitions. All students put in a fantastic effort, and it was wonderful to see them working together, demonstrating creativity, and competing in such a positive spirit.
