A group of year 7 students enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Skills Street in Rotherham on Thursday 4 June, where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of careers and industries through hands-on activities.
Throughout the day, students learned about different companies and the jobs available within them, gaining valuable insight into the world of work. The interactive experience allowed them to take part in practical challenges linked to a variety of professions, helping to bring career pathways to life.
Among the most popular activities were learning what it takes to be cabin crew, designing a brand-new PE kit, and using a range of materials to construct buildings and bridges. These engaging tasks encouraged creativity, teamwork and problem-solving while giving students a taste of real-world roles.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their understanding of future career options and the skills required in different industries.
Staff were particularly impressed with the students’ conduct throughout the trip. Their behaviour was exceptional, and they were a real credit to Holgate, representing the school with enthusiasm, maturity and respect.
Well done to all involved for making the visit such a success. Another trip to Skills Street is scheduled for July, when the second half of the year group will attend.
