On Tuesday 13 October, a group of our young carers from years 7 and 8 took part in a first aid workshop designed to help them develop valuable life skills and build confidence in responding to emergency situations.
During the workshop, students explored the contents of a first aid kit and practised applying bandages and using an EpiPen. They also watched a range of informative videos covering topics including CPR, defibrillators, burns and scalds, seizures, diabetes, anaphylactic shock and asthma.
The workshop was carefully planned to meet the needs of the students and provided a fantastic opportunity to learn essential first aid skills in a supportive environment. Our students were fully engaged throughout the session, behaved exceptionally well and found the experience both enjoyable and highly beneficial.
A huge thank you to Mrs Wilford for delivering such an informative and valuable workshop. We are delighted to be able to offer opportunities like this to support our young carers and equip them with skills that could make a real difference in the future.
