Today, I have walked around a range of lessons with our Chair of Governors, Kate Turner, who was impressed by the desire of students to explain how their learning linked with previous lessons. This is something we have been focusing on with students, so it was very pleasing to see. I was very proud of students’ behaviour, with a high standard of manners being consistently displayed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their support with uniform. There is a substantial amount of research showing that students who take pride in their uniform also take pride in their work and in their role as positive citizens. Some parents have asked me to clarify the rule on tags on shoes: metal tags are not allowed on shoe laces.
Finally, our Year 11 students start their mock exams this week. It’s a stressful time for them, so they will need as much encouragement and motivation as possible from everyone around them. We will be expecting 100% determination in every exam.
