Our year 9 students are currently exploring the fascinating world of forensic science. Today, they tackled a hands-on project focused on hair and fibre analysis – key techniques used in solving crimes.
In their lesson, the students simulated a crime scene, carefully collecting hair and clothing fibres as evidence. They then used microscopes to compare these fibres with samples from the suspects in their case.
After examining the evidence, the students made their own conclusions about who they think committed the crime. Their attention to detail and problem-solving skills were impressive as they pieced together the clues.
This activity not only made forensic science come alive but also gave students a taste of what it’s like to work in the field. We’re excited to see how their interest in forensic science develops!
