Some students will be guided to take the ASDAN CoPE award.

What is the certificate of personal effectiveness?

ASDAN is an internationally recognised awarding body which offers courses that can be tailored to the individual’s needs and interests.

CoPE, which is the certificate we will be running through ASDAN, stands for certificate of personal effectiveness and is a Level 1 GCSE-equivalent course which is all evidence/portfolio-based.

There is no exam at the end and the portfolio is completed over the two years using a range of photos/ videos/witness statements and annotations as evidence.

The CoPE curriculum comprises of 13 really exciting modules that cover a range of employability skills and life skills and can be tailored to suit the needs and interests of learners.

The programmes are based around completing challenges, which means students can complete a range of shorter challenges or immerse themselves in longer ones if they hold more interest.

This option would replace the history/geography option.

Alongside this, ASDAN students on this pathway will also take food, art and photography.
